Be More Than a Manager or Leader.  Be a Catalyst!

To improve group outcomes using Behavior Sense we need a new moniker for the role, i.e., “Catalyst” defined, in Dictionary.com, as “…a person whose talk, enthusiasm, or energy causes others to be more friendly, enthusiastic, or energetic,” “A person…that causes a change.”[2]

Comparing a Manager, a Leader, and a Catalyst:

While the person responsible for group outcomes, by definition, needs to keep an eye on performance and goal attainment, each role has a different focus:
